I was an A&S student at Tulane from 1978 - 1982. While there, I was a photographer for both the weekly newspapers, The Hullabaloo and for the yearbook, The Jambalaya. My friends and I were into New Wave and dancing, so this led naturally to The Cold. We'd see them around town and I would photograph them occasionally.
An editor from a start up weekly magazine saw some of my work and published it. Can't recall the name of the rag and I don't know if it's still in existence.
Allison asked if I was a professional photographer. Only in the sense that I revoked my amateur status by getting paid and it beat the other part-time jobs available to me at the time. Anyways, we loved The Cold and they provided the atmosphere for some of my best memories from college. It's almost as though they were an element of the nucleus of our group in that their breakup seemed to coincide with our own drifting apart. Now, of course, I am romanticizing. But we had fun!
